Agreed, Cabbage is a serious butt-pucker.

Ive seen overpasses bigger than the Altamont. Grapevine takes a little more skill due to all the blind curves. GV is one of my favs to drop off.

Meh, we have many as bad or worse up here in the PAC NW, cabbage is just more well known.
I think westbound on either 26 or 58 in Oregon is more challenging and there are plenty of others.

58 is a hill but 140 lake of the woods now that's a little bit more of a bump. 15 mi. 6% & no ramps. Wa. got a couple of grades. BC Is a whole nother deal.

Unless the traction is poor it really doesn't matter how steep the grade is. I went down a 5 mile 10% grade with switch backs all the way down in WY at 78k and never touched my brakes.

I did the same thing on a 9 mile 6% grade in Colorado. It doesn't take alot of skill or anything. You put it in the appropriate gear and toggle your jake brake to maintain the appropriate speed until you reach the bottom. People really get way too excited over hills.
