Drinking a beer

If you drink, and get behind the wheel you're an idiot. If it's your time off, and you want to enjoy beer(s), not behind a wheel, knock yourself out.

 

Exactly, and if you live in Colorado where it's the "good ole boy" network of getting hired, and you can't, everybody looks at you weird.

 

Because there's no shortage of reasons to believe otherwise.

You technically CAN have a beer then go to sleep and then drive the next day. But the whole thing about 24 hours is that it takes about 24 hours for your body to process the alcohol, so if you get tested any time in that 24 hours, you might be shut down. If you're shut down for that, you risk being fired. As long as you're under the legal limit, you're fine, legally (they don't define a specific legal limit for no reason. But you still have company rules to follow. And really you shouldn't drive after any beer at all because not everyone has the tolerance they think they do, they just don't see themselves from someone else's perspective.

When it comes to having it in the truck, that's a law I've never had to know either way, or cared to know. Even if it's legal, there's so many drivers out there who want nothing more than to tell on someone the first little mistake they see them make. So it's not worth the risk.

lmao at this thread. im a local driver, and my bro's and i regularly go for beers after work. you otr drivers get a little weird in the head, living on the road. relax, its supposed to be the land of the free, if you put in a day of work, who am i to tell you what to do? and as for guys drinking in the truck? who cares, as long as they are on their break. and it shouldnt matter if the keys are in it, running or not, lots of guys dont have apu's, what are they supposed to do, sit there in the dark and sweat?

the only thing you gotta do is stop drinking within 4 hours of punch in time, and be sure that you are punching in sober, or else just call off for the day.
