Stabob I couldn't agree with you more. I am a huge supporter of the working class and fair wages and even truckers having a general strike. That being said, I have to work and feed my family. All I am saying I just feel like at least they are being honest when other companies are not.
I think us truck drivers should even get paid a sleeper pay. Dont misunderstand what I am saying. Yeah detention should be paid but not many places do it even when they say they will. Once again I will say this I hit 3k consistently and almost 3600 this week. How much detention time do you think I have.

Crosscut yes a few more cents per mile would be nice like over .40 but it is what it is. I have to feed my family and so far I am able to do that here.
Like I was explaining to stabob I believe us drivers are underpaid but if I am out in the streets protesting and raising hell about that well it doesn't pay the bills. One day the day for a truckers strike will come and I will step out of the truck with everyone else. Until then I will work hard and provide for my family.
Yea so far I am very happy with IRT its not hard to bring home over a grand so I can live with that.southtruck Thanks this. -
I agree. If you're getting between 3000-3600 miles a week you aren't sitting around. That's the one thing I envy about IRT. We don't ever drop and hook. I get empty them have to sit at the tank wash for a minimum of 2 hours. But, I do get detention pay.

I dropped today in Murray, Ky then left headed back about 370 miles to fair oaks In. I have only went to a tank wash once I am hauling only dairy and get a dairy wash where I unload.

I am old school also....they been talking about a strike since the mid 90s....never happen bud.. It's too bad, that's what needs to be done to change a few things in the industry. Man hate to Rub it in..glad I am out!...hopefully for good..; )

No more than 3 more years for me. I have missed enough at home.

Who do you drive for, if you don't mind me asking?

I intentionally avoided marriage and children and all the rest of it because I knew when was a kid that this was what I wanted to do for a living, and since I grew up in this industry I knew even then that it wouldn't be what I wanted it to be unless I kept all my options open. Worked out pretty well for me because everybody I've ever been with turned me into a crazy person. Kicking their rear ends to the curb wasn't hard to do at all
