Welcome back. Jaso36, I appreciate all the info. Someone said they just had a urine dip test for their sugar.

Thats why I wondered about my A1C haha it is easy to get a one day reading that is good on a urine dip or a glucose meter but the A1C is a 3 month average of how you are controlling you diabetes.
Maybe when someone mentioned the urine dip that was just to see if you have high sugar.

It seems like keeping my A1C under would be easy as I have never been that high and my last was around 6 so anyway I will be sure to watch everything I eat for 0 days before my physical :)

    Thanks

They used to just do the dip but everything changed in January with new laws. I was at 5.4 so I am going my Dr. next month and see what changes we can make. I have not taken Glipizide for about a month and have reduces my Metformin to 2 pills in the morning instead of 2 in the morning and 1 at dinner. I eat mostly salads and have cut any drinks with sugar out. Unsweet tea with sweet-n-low, probably will give me something else but has drastically reduced my A1C(16.1 in Dec to 5.4 on Thursday). With any luck I may have beat this. I have lost well over 60 lbs and intend on losing another 20-30 then I am going to quit smoking.

Sounds like you have a great plan. 5.4 is where they want you to be, right ??? I think Glipizide is the main reason I went to insulin.

I think it was Glipizide along with Metformin that made me go Low. With Metformin and Lantus all is well.

Congrats on losing the weight !!! I lost 30 lbs. and didn't need as much insulin and quit taking blood pressure medicine. I will lose another 10-20 lbs and should be good.

I was in the hospital getting back surgery back in April and my A1C was 5.8 so I was happy.

And congrats on going to quit smoking. I quit over 8 years ago and picked up some weight , so you gotta watch out for that. Now I always seem to have a tooth pick in my mouth even after all this time. But now it seems so weird that I was a smoker and I smoked a lot.

Retired Navy Veteran, Ray J. Falk, is suing a truck driver because he claims the tire-blowout on his truck caused him psychological damage. Falk, who suffers from PTSD, claims the blowout was so loud that he sustained “severe trauma to his hearing” as a result.

He is seeking $75,000 from the driver and his company, Western Express, as damages.
According to the lawsuit, Falk was standing on the sidewalk, just feet away from the rig, when the truck driver drove over the curb during a right turn and blew out his tires causing an “extraordinarily loud, concussive explosive sound.”

There is still work to be done on the remodel but I got the bulk of it finished enough that they do not really need me anymore. If I knew how to post pics here I would of the bathroom floors and Kitchen but the rest is covered to protect against the painting that needs to be done. I am not computer literate so whatever program that works I have no idea what it would be, I think you guys cuss when you talk about those programs. LOL. Just have to go back to pick up my saws tomorrow and pack up some of my stuff for my trip to Olathe. I will take pics on my phone, maybe I could text it to one of you guys to post.

    Be safe out there

Really !!!!!!! Well I would like to start the process of suing Ray J. Faulk for the psychological damage I have received from reading this post. I am so tired of lawyers and others trying to get a free ride.
Ray if you are a true soldier then man up you sissy , get over it. All the soldiers that have " Died " for your freedom and the truck drivers freedom C,mon man really.........Really
