HI All
How many miles do you guys think a new student driver at a better trucking company can expect to get week after week?
I don't know if I could handle OTR throughout the whole year. How many as a regional driver? How many for OTR?
Thanks

OTR between 1500-3500..

New driver 1500-2500. Depends on the company. Regional can get as many miles as otr. Regional is just more work. I run southeast and get 2500-3500 miles and do 20-30 stops and home every weekend.

ArmyGuy Thanks this.

If I cant get 2500 miles minimum a week then its just not worth it to be otr in my opinion. Rookie or not. Yes everyone has bad weeks but I want 10,000 miles per month. That's for just regular van/reefer driving.

So 2000 miles @ .43 per mile isn't enough for you. Just saying it isn't all about miles.

I'd love to find a company that would pay a new driver $.43cpm lol

By your info. it looks like you've only driven for a year and your making 43 cents a mile? What company is that?
What do you guys think the average starting cents per mile is now?
