We are getting ready to start our CDL class in August and have explained this situation to the school and they have said it will not be a problem for future employers. We are not too sure and would like to have a second opinion. Honey and I are planning to OTR drive once we get our permits.
January of 2013 Honey was in an accident where he was following too close. Did damage in our personal vehicle and very little to the other driver Went to court and because of his excellent driving record judge sent him to driving school and he did receive a citation but it was dismissed because of the driving school. Does have +5 on driving record today. On his record it shows up only as "accident".
We did not think about it as a problem because his driving record is so clean.
Is this a problem for OTR? Will companies hire him?
If we both proceed (I don't want to do OTR without him) how do we explain to companies?
How long will it take for this to clear?
Thanks,
Honey and Lovie

It's not gonna be an issue if his record prior to this incident is as stellar as you claim.
honeyandlovie Thanks this. -
It will limit his options, but he'll still have no problem finding a job.

What double yellow said. No biggie

The biggest problem you're going to have is here on TTR. Maybe change your names to Bruno and Lovie.
honeyandlovie, OPUS 7 and joseph1135 Thank this. -
Has Honey learned anything from the accident? Easier to stop a personal vehicle than a semi, by far.
-
Oooh, say it ain't so, Joe!
joseph1135 Thanks this. -
Why should they change per se?
honeyandlovie Thanks this. -
They shouldn't. It was just a joke.honeyandlovie Thanks this.
