What's with all these Central trucks pulling Swift trailers? I know Swift owns them, but to me it would seem things are kinda slow on the reefer side?

Yet all we've seen is Swift trucks pulling Central trailers, and hearing how Central drivers aren't getting loads...

My husband's DM keeps apologizing because there is nothing out there and he gets these short hauls that have like 2 days to deliver them. She tries to get it to where he can drop the load early (for another to take in to the receiver) and have another load for him, but the miles aren't there at all. He is barely making enough to cover the costs of insurance and other deductions. One week he actually was in the hole. He is on time, no problems and his DM and him get along great... He went from running cross country to basically going back and forth between little deliveries here and there. He accepts everything she sends his way though. He goes out for 3 weeks at a time and we can't keep going if he isn't going to get any miles. Our mortgage is more than what he has grossed in 3 weeks.

its time to start putting in some applications you should start looking at companies for him. I also wouldn't buy the "Freight is Slow" people haven't stopped eating. Good luck I hope business gets better for your husband.

Have him 'fire' his DM... Try to get on a dedicated fleet... He needs to let someone THERE know he won't put up with what he's getting. With the 'Old Central' there was a department called Driver Services that would help resolve issues like this... With Swiftral, who knows the process you need to go through... Just don't give up without trying, or a year... Then he will be more marketable :)

PS... We are on our third DM/FLEET... We now have a good fit for us.

He has an interview with a local company that runs tankers and we are really hoping that this goes through because it will be hourly pay rather than cpm and I think that will work better for us. So we are crossing our fingers and saying prayers because it would be amazing if he got such an awesome deal so close to home.

They do have alot of time added here lately , for what reason idk .
maybe swift is used to their drivers hitting all kinds of #### , so they ad extra time for police reports , and tow trucks to pull them out of ditches. Lol
    just a thought.

I've seen 2 Central trucks hauling Swift trailers today

well, 1 for sure was a central truck (Central was written on the door), the other was a grey Peterbilt, much like the ones Central has (Swift written in small letters on the fairing, much like many newer Central trucks)

but yes, more often than not i've seen Swift trucks with Central Trailers
