Several years back another hand & I were going up I-5 in the early morning just north of Bakersfield making our way to the place we were to unload. A 4 wheel driver came on the CB Radio saying, I thought all truck were governed to keep the speed down. I stated, is not the governor the one who is head of a state? I dont believe governor has any thing to with an 18 wheeler. The truck I was driving would pull 2500 RPM on level ground & I believe the one the other hand was driving would pull 2450 on level ground.
Todays trucks, engines, & transmissions are 100% sissy's compared to the trucks of yesterdays years. If you drove yesterdays trucks as you do todays trucks you would be lugging the engine & you would be setting on the shoulder of the road with major engine problems wondering what you did wrong.
They got them now so anyone can jump into the drivers seat & drive off, real truck drivers are a thing of the past, as or real trucks.poppapump1332 Thanks this. -
ah yes... the good ol' days...
3 log books and a hand full of road dope and away we go !!!
And people wonder why we have all these regulations.. -
Good to know that I'm not a real trucker cause of the year I was born in.

Its easy to do 133 i use to do it all the time on my gixxer 1000 and in my mach 1 now no way i wouldve pulled over on my bike catch me if you can.why all the bashing it was in his personal vehicle im sure y'all have done something at some point where you put your license in jeopardy it doesnt mean your not a good driver and now op will have to learn from his mistakes like when your doing 133 dont pull over lol

Well, isn't that great for not only you, but the rest of us who haven't been drivng since Christ rode a tricyle. You get to ##### and moan about us, and we ge to ignore your old fool #####. It's a win-win!
-
Yep, and guys like you are the reason that the industry has so many regulations now. Then you have the nerve to ##### about the changes in the laws, and pine for the "old days."
Thanks a lot. -
What he was doing had nothing to do with trucking.
-
All vehicles on the road, and all drivers on the road, and all those drivers' actions have everything to do with trucking.
-
But what one does in a personal vehicle does not lead to more regulations. I agree that excessive speed is stupid and dangerous, but in a personal vehicle it does not change regulations.
