2200 miles to auburn, in for Saturday. Stayed at the TA in Ontario, ca. They have rental cars there. I may take advantage of that next time I have extra time on a load in that area.
Delivered at the Ralphs DC monday. Terrible place. Once you get checked in, it's not bad. There were 14 people in line at the security gate, was still like that when I left a few hrs later. You have to have your own safety vest or they will turn you away, even though their own employees don't wear them. I had dispatch add that to the directions. Plus, they leave all the dunnage, broken pallets, shrink wrap, etc, in your trailer for you to clean out. Not a good place to go.

And they work on Ralphs time, not the rest of the worlds time. Spent many an hour there waiting for them to unload.
-
I actually spent more time checking in then I did at the dock.
Bumper Thanks this. -
Trust me I know they are slow as turtles but my last experience was not that bad 2 hours and I was gone. I just finished unloading at US foods in Wilimington and it took 6 hours past my appt time.

I met a new driver at a rest area in Iowa on I35 just south of MN last week. He was driving truck 1502. That was the first 1500 truck I had seen. He said he got lucky coming out of orientation getting the new truck since nothing else was available.
On one of the previous posts, I've never had and never heard of anyone getting anything stolen out of their truck. There is 24/7 video monitoring of the shop so if there is a legitimate concern video can be reviewed. -
From looking at that guy's posts it looks like he has had 5 jobs in just over a year...says all it needs to say really!!

Another 3k+ week this week....currently unloading in Corinne,UT then to Sugar City,ID and thence to Harrisonville,Mo....1,500 miles...nice!

Just finished reading this entire thread, have to say it's the "best" thread I've ever read on a trucking forum for intelligent and useful information about a company. Just one question I haven't had answered from reading, well maybe 2, can you take your "earned days off" anywhere, or must you go home? I live in Vermont and have kids in Denver and Buffalo, so being able to take time off in their areas would be a huge incentive for me..
again, thanks for the thread, I'm considering a change as I'm regional the last year and am missing seeing the 48 and canada.... -
They say no in orientation, but I do it once or twice a year without any complaints. Don't know how it would go on a regular basis.Last edited: Jul 16, 2014

I was told they want you to at least take most of your time off at your home of record. Reason being you are spending most of your time off somewhere else, that should be your home of record. I haven't had any requests denied for taking it somewhere else provided you give them the required two weeks notice.
