Here in Eloy. Got a nice load out of El Paso this morning, all of 10K going to Hayward, CA for Thursday morning. This is now my second load under 12k. MPG now 9.1, and finished in El Paso today at 8.9. Have t stop in PHX in the morning. Need to pick up a new EZ Pass Plus. This one finally quit the other day. What fun going into all the scales and inspection stations. Surprised that could not get one in El Paso. Nope. Has to be ordered from PHX and shipped to you. Found out today one of my favorite ladies is not longer at El Paso, Sophie, worked in the shop.

My Safeway drop turned into a live lumper delivery that took nearly 4 hours, so I was 2 hours late delivering my next load.
    (I hate Safeway loads.)
And while my next (next) load had been cancelled by the shipper, I still hung on to the next one that I t-call at Inver Grove for my home time.

Plus-1 cut down the windows for pick up and delivery for the t-call, even though the load has a LOT of time. I'll just mac-22 to a time that I feel like delivering, and then enjoy being home for a few days.

After getting our stacked load from El Paso to Yakima I decided to take the run from Phoenix to El Paso in order to balance our team hours, otherwise my trainee would have been way ahead of me on hours off his 70. The live water load took a bit to scale it, which was a good thing in order to show my student how to move the 5th wheel and trailer tandems.

Hard lightening storm with a blow in Tucson on the way, initially gale force winds kicking up dust thick enough to be a concern, then turning into a mud storm when I hit a downpour. Other than that it was a beautiful drive to El Paso for a tight dock at an Albertson's retail store.

I turned the wheel over to my student and he drove to the terminal in a hail storm and downpour, with rivers running down the streets. The terminal was dry and we did our drop and hook quickly.

Right now I'm getting ready to sleep in the bunk. My student is stoked to take the night drive and watch the lightening show in the mountains. Tomorrow morning I'll be taking over somewhere in Utah.

I'll talk to our customer tomorrow to see if they can take delivery on Thursday instead of the appointment on Friday. If not, maybe a layover in Pendleton might be in order... just to celebrate his first descent of Cabbage Hill.

looks pretty nice, she keeps talking about wanting to go to Vegas too, she hasnt been there since before she got to legal age and has never been able to experience some of it. We keep going back and forth on what we want to do, our friends have offered to watch our daughter for a couple days so we can enjoy some adult activities wherever we end up going.
