Wow, Passport you were delivering about an hour north of me, Good to know there is more than the Walmart DC in Punta Gorda that you guys go to in the area if I do decide on Trans Am as my stater company later in the year.

^Yes, when I am sent to Florida, it is about 50% of the time to deliver south of I-4 (Polk City, Tampa or around Ft. Pierce) 50% north of I-4, then pick-up O.J. at the Coke plant (Minute Maid) in Auburndale or juice at another place in Leesburg.

Raining in NC quite a bit. Guess jaso chose a good day to head out for Olathe/Trans Am! Actually, as long as it isn't causing any damage, a rainy day is alright with me. It makes for a good reading and napping day. Be safe out there, All!

Its the same down here in FL, though I do feel sorry for those of you on the road in this type of mess and hope for a safe drive in this bad weather.

Well made it to Olathe and did the wiz quiz. Should be on the road tomorrow just have to wait for the results, they said noon tomorrow. Only bad part in Rodeway Inn but good cause I have a smoking room which is surprising cause I thought you could not smoke indoors anywhere.

    Be safe out there

The annual CVSA Brake Safety Week is right around the corner. The week-long brake inspection campaign runs September 7-13, 2014
Commercial vehicle inspectors will be out in full force throughout the U.S. and Canada conducting Level 4 inspections. Defective or out-of-adjustment brakes will result in the vehicle being placed out of service.
In addition to brake inspections, CMV inspectors will also be checking:
    • Driver License
    • Registration
    • Low Air Warning Device
    • Pushrod Travel (Adjustment)
    • Brake Linings/Drums
    • Air Loss Rate (If leak detected)
    • Tractor Protection System

2013 Brake Safety Week stats from the CVSA:
20,067 vehicles were inspected. In 2012, 21,255 were inspected.
1,811 or 9% of vehicles were placed OOS for brake adjustment (9.4% in 2012, 8.4% in 2011, 8.9% in 2010).
1,434 or 7.1% of vehicles were placed OOS for brake components (7.8% in 2012, 7.9% in 2011, 8% in 2010).
2,714 or 13.5% of vehicles were placed OOS for brakes overall (15.3% in 2012, 14.2% in 2011, 13.5% in 2010).
More than 3.4 million brakes have been inspected since the program’s inception.

“This achievement shows that we are moving in the right direction,” said Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrator Anne S. Ferro, adding, ”but the results also reveal that collective efforts are still necessary to make commercial vehicle operations across the continent the safest possible. We thank CVSA and all of its members for their professionalism and dedication – not only during Brake Safety Week – but every day enforcing commercial vehicle safety regulations that protect the motoring public.”

Scratch that. Check engine/fault codes coming back on again and now the truck will not complete a regen cycle on its own. Will have to check-in with the Kenworth dealer in the morning <sigh>.

I roll into the yard in Omaha, I roll out of the yard. Heading to PA again, this time to Americold in Manchester. Company was really good to me this time. Gave them my hrs, told them I could run a few more days or, I could reset at my sisters. I hate resetting in Omaha, screws up my taxes. Anyhoo, after delivery, will be resetting at the sis's house. She's going to be gone for part of it tho, going to a wedding. Wow, a house to myself, cable tv..... did I just end up in heaven??? :biggrin_25514:

HTQ, how's your wild cat doing? Any other stray animals take up residence there? Also, how are things going with your daughters and limited Internet time? Hope you have been able to keep up with yard work and your pool. If I had a pool, I'd be keeping up with it just fine....chilling in it!
