Looking for a school based on price is very bad decision. Deciding to go contract training based on the pricing of a school is a much worse decision.
When you go to CRST, CR England, Prime, PAM, Swift or whoever and you make $20,000-$30,000 LESS money than you would make with versus a quality carrier that you could work for without an employment contract, what did your training really end up costing?
Nothing in life is free.....contract training via a company school is the most expensive way there is to become a truck driver.AfterShock Thanks this. -
Very, very true, but alot of forum information here is about which carrier is the best to start with that contracts you after paying for your schooling. Alot of folks come here to review that, and hopefully find a 'reasonable" employer, and not a slave owner to work for.
Would you recommend then just doing the cdel manuals, fro your home state, getting your cdl permit yourself, and then seek out an employer that will take you on for their inhouse employment training with their trainer? -
I already have my own truck 2009 Cascadia, it is 6months now when I bought it and Im doing good.
by the way I got 40cts/mi for start. -

.40 cents per mile running owner operator and you are doing good?
Please explain the math to me on that.
At 3000 miles per week thats $1200.00. That doesnt even cover fuel. -
That's good advice Vagabond.
C.R. England is like a birthday gift wrapped up in fancy, decorative, colorful paper with ribbons and bows, --- complete with a sentimental card from the gift giver. Awaiting inside the gift box is an unexpected surprise. Under all the crumpled tissue paper packing, it's full of pure, 100% unadulterated bovine excrement.
. I agree. ThanX VT.
