^ ^ Guess you've had a busy day around the ranch! I believe George will like prepass. When he worked for Abilene, he didn't have to stop at scales every time.

All the studying I did paid off. Pass the wiz quiz. Got my truck today T-680. Got it loaded up with groceries and then went to JimmyJohns to eat. LOL. Got the starter package for the truck. When I was signing paperwork they said about the prepass I cut them off and said I know it is going back on in the next 48 hrs. They looked at me surprised that I knew that. Thanks Honeybadger. My first load is to Omaha and hopefully home soon after that as I do not have much in this truck.

HTQ you crack me up with all those animals. I have yet to see a moose but have seen almost every other type of animal out here.

    Be safe out there.

Sage school , Muncie Indiana and Carter Express, Anderson Indiana are working together.

The school pays half with a Grant and Carter pays the other half. If you work a year you owe nothing.

I think they pay 32 cpm after a few weeks with a trainer.

Nice looking Volvo's with Automatic transmissions.

Home a couple times a week.

I asked the recruiter if I could stay out for maybe 3 weeks and she said no one does that.

I think just regional and run to Laredo, TX

i may have posted this info before :)

Well .....I said it had been years since I looked!:biggrin_2559: Actually, I did a little looking around this evening and was pleasantly surprised. There have been many changes for the better. Rates are a bit higher, the training programs look a little better....online anyway. I hope it is an industry trend......it is long overdue.

If a moose shows up here I am leaving! :yes2557: ....or a bear. Circus elephants live down the highway about 10 miles .....wouldn't be surprised to open my door one evening and have a runaway elephant out there......they all seem to find their way to the Queen's wildlife refuge.:biggrin_25523:

There are so many different companies to choose from now. I went to knight Transportation and they have their own school and have been reading through their info , don't seem like to bad of a deal there either.

We have bears in my neck of the woods. A friend of mine posted this morning on Facebook that she and her husband saw a bear in their backyard! I live in the city limits, so it's less likely that I'd see a bear in my yard. Last summer there were reports of bears walking downtown on main street. Our county (Washington Co) is reported to have some of the largest brown bears in the region.

Guess wild animals know they get a good welcome at the Queen's Wild Life center, huh? Have you ever had any problems with any of them hijacking your pool? That would he a definite Kodak moment!!!

Sounds like you're doing your homework well, dennisroc. George did a lot of research before jumping in trucking also. I believe he has posted how he has been with 2 other companies before being hired by Trans Am. Training time was longer with both of those companies individually than TA offers to nonexperienced truck drivers, however, TA is more of a starter company, and gives newbies more of an opportunity than many trucking companies, so it appears. That is something you need to check out too, as many companies want several months of experience or aren't very tolerant of newbies as they are learning the ropes. That's just my 2 cents worth. Best of luck deciding.
