We have a house in the Philippines on the sea and surrounded by jungle. We have coconut trees, banana trees, mango trees and other fruits also. We have 2 goats I named them Carmelita and Dennis after my wife and I
In 10 yrs we have killed 5 Cobra's , and cut the tail off one so now I got a pissed off snake running around there somewhere.
I don't like snakes , especially the ones that can kill you
Had a couple caribou that would eat our grass but now we have all the property fenced.
i am sure plenty of spiders and scorpions if I look hard enough.
But no " Bears " yet. Lol

Yeah this is why I am always thinking TA. Also when I leave Korea , will go get my CDL as fast as I can and someone said that TA does all the checks before they offer you a jobs or have you show up for orientation.
So if this is the case I can get out of school and go straight to TA in maybe 3 weeks get training at TA for 11 days and get busy trucking.
i wish I could get more training but I think I will be alright. I have really been learning everything I can so when the time comes I can just concentrate on driving.
What type of opportunity does TA give than other companies ???
I know shorter training
Nice trucks well outfitted
And I think 32 cpm to start
Is there others I am missing ?jungHo Thanks this. -
Reefer experience is always a plus also, dennisroc. Many companies look for drivers with reefer experience. The King's company runs both dry box and reefer when he went to work for them they were looking for someone with reefer experience.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
If you do decide Trans Am you go through a three day orientation then off the weekend then 4 days of backing then out 7-11 days with a trainer. I had 6 students and only one was 10 days all others were Friday to Friday. If you get a good trainer he will not be trying to get team miles from day 1. I would want about 4,000 for the week so I could get my students to do a lot of backing and have them do most of the paperwork and most everything else so they could get used to doing it. Of course I was right over their shoulder watching them to correct anything. They always have my number and could call anytime. The training is very short but if your a quick learner then that is good if not there are going to be a few more mistakes in the beginning. I have to wait 30 days before I can train again. In the first few days I split the time 50/50 driving to get the students used to driving and try by the end to have them do most of the driving so they are used to being solo. I try to work on trip planning with a map but some just didn't want to, guess which ones are no longer driving. I will sit in the jump seat so I can answer as many questions as possible, I do not know everything but don't tell me that. LOL. Not all trainers do it this way and that goes for every company. You should look at the school you are going to real hard as out of 6 students only one had most of the rules down, his school was really good. He lives in Buffalo but I will ask him what school he went to and post it and maybe they have one in your area cause he was so ready when he got in my truck still did not do team miles. Just so he could learn but I think we did 4,500 that week. Hope that helped.
All I get is coyotes and a stupid peacock(and deer but who doesn't have those) that come around my house and have not seen the peacock in a little while. I would love to see all that wild life. Trying to convince the wife to move to Colorado, Montana. That would spike the sightings. Just can't let her see winter first would have to move in the beginning of summertime or she will be out of there. LOL
Be safe out there -
For everybody old enough to remember, let's stick this in you head for the day.
"I don't like spiders and snakes, and that ain't what it takes".
BTW, for our resident queen, that's onlyn the mid 30's. *snorts and giggles*dennisroc Thanks this. -
Well Jaso I hope that you are still around at the end of the year or begining of next and are available if I do decide on TA as my stater company as I do like the way you like to train.
And I can understand what you are talking about with schools. I have 2 in my area, One in Tampa and Suncoast Trucking Acadamy in Punta Gorda. After visiting one in Tampa which I will let be nameless as I got the impression they really only care about getting your money, the other which I have decided on is in Punta Gorda which is smaller, but it does seem to have more personalized training as the classes are smaller, and more road time behind the wheel which I do see as a good thing.
HTQ, I truelly feel for ya with all the wild animals and 3 teenagers. And it is funny you mentioned that reefer exp is a plus and another reason why TA is still in at the top of my list as my fiance found a small local company in our neck of the woods running the 48 that is looking for a driver with reefer exp. Just wish I had already started and had the year of OTR they are looking for.jaso36, dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
I really hate receivers that lie to my boss. They told my boss, that the reason it was taking so long, was that I was 15 minutes late for an appt. According to their own time stamped paperwork, I was 35 minutes early!!! *sighs*
Gotta tell ya, that was a rough drive this early morning. Would've been an easy one, if I had had anywhere near the sleep that my logs showed. Anyway, all is done and i'm here and getting ready to call the sis. Y'all have a nice weekend.
Btw, HTQ only has 2 kids tho to hear her talk about, it seems more like a dozen. Wonder if she is counting us?? EjungHo, dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Jim Stafford, wow that is an old song. I just listened to the first part of it on You Tube. Pretty silly but at the time it was cool.
