I test drove a 2014 FLD 122 SD DD 16 Logger today! Liked truck and engine.
Price is a bit high however I am on the fence about the engine and fuel mileage the dealer is telling me. Anyone out there with "REAL" MPG figures?
    Thanks

What is the application you intend to use/need the dd16 for? I would think an o/o who bought it to haul regular freight would do better than the heavy hauler who actually needs the higher power.

    mostly mountain roads?
    How much off road?
What's your average speed?(miles per day divide by total time spend driving.)

Unless you get a fellow logger running similiar roads to yours, all numbers will be off.
Chances are slim off finding someone like that.

If we all listened to our salesman!!!!! all our trucks would get 10+ mpg....
Im hearing the DD16 is not all that great on fuel, good motor though, in your operation i would figure somewhere around 5.5 - 6mpg

Budget for 5 - 6mpg, count anything better as a bonus. It is impossible for us to give you anything more accurate, too many variables and the main one being the driver.

i'm still waiting for mine to come so i can;t inform you yet but i talked to my dealer and the buy just before me that just bought one is getting 5.5mpg running tanker at 90K gross in upstate ny and pa and that is at his first service of 30k miles not even broken in yet ..... but alot has to also do with gearing, application, and driver ... being a logging truck and im sure its geared low for off road and what not and all the extra drag of the equipment and the loads i would be safe to say your average would be between 4-5.5 area, i geared mine for a mix of OTR and local heavy at 107K pulling dump so im hoping i can get 5.5 local and 6-7 on OTR running under 80K .... my truck should be here in about a week or so .... its schedualed for 7/27/14 but im sure it will be late
