never going to end the programs they are in place for a reason. that is to utilize the equipment to its maximum productivity. they would have to add numerous trucks to end programs.

Walmart could eliminate all programs that are in place now, replace them with a 5 day (or X number of days) schedule for all drivers, and use fewer tractors than now. It would require eliminating permanently assigned tractors. No idea if that would be considered, but certainly just as possible as any other scenario for tractor utilization.Chewey Thanks this.

What's up with all the carriers pulling Wal-Mart General Merchandise these days? From Schneider, Werner, USA Truck, even some Landstar agents got some deals set up

We can't keep up with it all. They don't want to add trucks or drivers for rushes...grabberblue12 and hawkjr Thank this.

Good news for some out there...should be some hiring in the next few weeks in the southeast and midwest areas.

Most DC's in the Midwest are hiring at this time.

Well Grabber...I had to stop in to see what you and the rest of the good time gang have to say about the big announcement about putting cameras in the trucks.......both out and in
grabberblue12 Thanks this. -
The camera thing is true. There was a driver representative at our dc on Tuesday last week with a pamphlet about the cameras. He said they are testing them in several major cities now and to expect them soon. I don't know how they are going to hire people to live in a truck on weekends and holidays (while slip-seating between trucks as a new hire) with all the rules on not over-revving truck above 1450 rpms etc. and write-ups for using brakes or turning too hard while there is a camera 2 feet from their face at all time. I'll admit that i was quite a company cheerleader several years ago but i'm slowly losing that feeling now. It's still a good job but unless a person either has no job or has a crappy job
I don't think I would leave a another good job to start at the bottom here anymore. Just my honest opinion. -

Just so I've said it... it was all lies I actually found a photograph that says it all.
