Lightweight trucks have less space and smaller engines. So the company pays 5 cents extra as compensation.
KoloradoB Thanks this. -
Prime has smaller trucks that have no top bunk. They're called lightweight trucks because they weigh almost 5000 pounds less then a condo.
-
No storage space between the front seats and the bunk either...correct? I think I saw on youtube that the bunk butts right up against the front seats.
-
On the Cascadia that's correct, but there's also more storage in these trucks above the bunk. You don't get that in a regular Cascadia. The Prostars are a bit different, more headroom than a mid-roof Cascadia. Search for "lightweight" in the Prime forum. There are plenty of threads in there with picture.

Look through my prime experience thread. Pictures of my prostar from last year early in the thread. Might also have pics of a recovery lw cascadia, but I forget.
-
I'm in a condo, truck payment is high for not ever getting to own the tractor, but the line haul revenue is a lot better paying than most companies as well. The Cascadia evolution is where it's at though in terms of reliability
JimmyBones and reuter19 Thank this. -
Good Luck ...
