And we have to log it too? Who knew? Next thing you know you would want me to get my hands dirty like opening the hood?...I don't see what for as that is why we have all those idiot lights in the dash when they light up I know to fill it up if they wanted us to check under the hood everyday then there wouldn't be idiot lights in my dash........man what is this world coming too

I always pretrip before logging on duty. Makes no sense to do it otherwise. Starting your 14 then discovering a flat tire and waiting 3 hours to get it replaced sucks.

I do my pretrip, depending on the day I will do a securement, tire, light check or fluids, belts and hoses too. Then when I'm done I log on duty for 5 minutes. During that time I approve my logs, send in my dvr then set up my drinks and snacks for the day.

Not odd at all man. I have been doing that for years. Especially with the e-logs now, I keep my on duty Time to an absolute minimum. I show 5 minutes for pre and post trip, fueling, and customer interaction/paper work at a delivery location. The people that call you weird for that are probably the same people that ##### because they make no money cuz they stay on duty all day except for the 30

Ya know elogs have this little thing called a edit button. :biggrin_25525:

One time during pre trip I found a flat , easy enough I edited back to sleeper and waited for the tire to be fixed. Then ya just show your on duty time after all is well again for pretrip.

I am sure about 20 people are gonna tell me how that is wrong and that I should be hung in the town square for doing so , but oh well ...:biggrin_25523:

I edit all the time and have never heard a word about it .

Like sometimes I will fuel (on duty ) then go inside and forget to switch it. So I edit because why do I want to be on duty when I am taking a duty ?:biggrin_2559:
