Thinking of going to prime few questions

U can get on flatbed if u request a flatbed trainer and tell them your coming for flatbed. Will have to get twic, not a hazmat. They will do it for you. Prime pays above average. Above average program, they give good fuel mpg bonuses. I remember as a company driver making $700-$1000 a week. Not bad for a company driver

From what I've read about the company, Prime sounds like a decent opportunity for company drivers, but there's no way in hell I'd lease from them.

Your best bet is to go company, get a little time in, and train (if you can stand the brainpans cdl mills are cranking out these days)

 

have you ever leased through prime ? Have you ever driven for prime ? I don't think you have so maybe you should leave the prime questions to the prime guys who know what they are talking about

 

I haven't leased through Prime, and there's good reason for it. The best thing I can say about their lease program is that it's better than CR England's.

I've spoken to quite a few Prime lease ops, and between their testimonials and the simple fact that I refuse to pay for a company's reefer fuel in the first place... I stand by my previous post.

 

As a rule of them, I'd stay away from leasing for a couple years and get your feet as a company driver. Then once you know the company and the way its handled, you might your hand at leasing. Get to know the lanes, the way things are run, and have fun. If you can be successful as a company driver, you then might try leasing.

I'd say that's a fair gameplan.

Above all, don't listen to salesmen/recruiters, or drivers that stand to gain from making a referral. Talk to the ones actually doing it and get their take on it. Find out why those that are unhappy with the lease plan are dissatisfied (it might well be their own shortcomings), so you can avoid their pit falls, if and when you do go that route.

 

Prime is a great company to get experience I can't say this for sure bit with only 3 months chances are prime will want you to go through their PSD program even though you have a cdl that is deffinatly something I would ask the recruiter if you call them its not really a big deal if you have to do it though it takes your 40,000 TNT miles to 30,000 and they will let you get the trifecta bonus if you pass their evaluation down side is you may have to sign a 1 year contract going through the PSD program so deffinatly ask those questions to the recruiter
