Making plans for Prime

I'm getting in here a bit late and my experience with full-size trucks is very limited. That said, I do have 34 years experience as a CDL class B bus driver and a college degree. Forget college. I have made more with my CDL than I ever have as a graduate. I'm stepping on up to a class A license and Prime to pay off student loans. College recruiters make even seedy truck company recruiters look like amateurs when it comes to lying. Half of all current graduates go back home unemployed or underemployed. Constant, exponentially rising tuition rates will destroy any well-planned budget for your college career and the loans become a noose around your neck for decades to come that will keep you from buying anything else. Want homework? Research what I have said. I have lost the better part of two decades thanks to college. There are many more who would agree with me that college won't help you earn more than you can earn here. College doesn't do what it used to anymore.

 

Thank you for sharing the present day reality of a your situation, college is not a thing of the present unless you specialize in a specific field that is thriving or short handed.The average person spends 5 to 10 years, trying to repay student loans. One thing for sure Christopher, you come across as a very intelligent young man. You are well articulated and obviously think things through. So here's one more way to look at it. You could climb into that truck and stay there until you do have the tuition. Then walk into the classroom with a vast amount of experience, more than most of your professors will have and excel. Your CDL will feed you when your degree doesn't, because people like you are what every trucking company wants - intelligent youth. Plus. You will know where you want to live having already seen it. You'll be debt free, educated, and in charge. Oh, to be in your shoes. Good luck!
