Leaving for Waynesboro in the morning. Fingers crossed all goes well. Thanks to the creators of this thread, it's how I discovered Van Wyk.

Good luck.

Good luck to you. Tell Ace hello.

Anyone familiar with a schedule that would get you home daily? I replied to a CL ad posted in Cedar Rapids, IA stating that you would be home daily doing multiple IA dock stops and drop and hook, LTL position. Pay based on license type? The reply I got was from August Bach @Van Wyk.
I have been reading through this thread and haven't heard anyone mention anything like this. -
Sounds like Van Wyk Freight Lines, also in Iowa:

Is that a different carrier? If so what a long worthless read! HAHA
-
Yes. Lol I think they are some distant relatives but no one talks about it. But I would give it a shot. LTL in the Midwest sounds fun!
-
I will be talking to them. I haul grocery now but they are reorganizing so all the runs now leave between 11pm and 3am. Yuck.

That company was based in Pella, IA, I think. But when I checked, they are in Grinnel, IA. That is right off of I-80 a few exits east of Newton,IA.
I've seen few at the plant I work from, making deliveries. There are other LTL companies, too, like Standard Forwarding, UPS, Estes and I think Fed-Ex in Waterloo. Others around near enough, too. A bit farther than I would want to live from them, though. -
I use to see them all the time across I-80. I think they have yellowish tractors
25(2)+2 Thanks this.
