    A nationwide food recall -

Wawona Packing Co. is voluntarily recalling peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots that were packed at its Cutler, California, warehouses between June 1 and July 12. Wawona believes the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
Costco, Trader Joe's, and the Walmart Corp. -- which operates Walmart and Sam's Club stores, have all posted notices about the fruit recall on their websites. The recall is nationwide, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Internal testing at Wawona revealed the potential Listeria contamination, the FDA says. The facility was shut down and sanitized; subsequent tests have been negative for the food-borne illness.
"We are aware of no illnesses related to the consumption of these products," Wawona President Brent Smittcamp said in a statement. "By taking the precautionary step of recalling product, we will minimize even the slightest risk to public health, and that is our priority."
Trader Joe's has urged customers not to eat any of these stone fruits -- meaning fruits with large pits -- and to return them to a nearby store for a full refund.
In addition, Wegmans Food Markets Inc. has recalled several of its baked goods that contain fruit from Wawona Packing Co. This includes cakes, pies, tarts and other pastries. For a full list, see FDA.gov.
Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause Listeriosis. The most common symptoms of Listeriosis are gastrointestinal issues (such as diarrhea), fever and muscle aches. Pregnant women, infants, older adults and people with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk for a more serious infection, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDC estimates about 1,600 illnesses and 260 deaths are caused by Listeriosis each year in the United States. Overall, outbreaks have been on the decline since 2001, but the largest in U.S. history occurred in 2011. Cantaloupes from a farm in Colorado sickened 147 people and killed nearly three dozen. The farmers responsible recently were sentenced to five years' probation, including six months of in-home detention.

Made it to xt 4 on I-81 in Tn today. Since I no longer paper log I have no idea what town I am in anymore. LOL. Should make delivery in Temple, Tx for Thursday morning. Might get around 700 miles today all together. Much better for me to run over night when no one is on road make better miles. Hope to make it through Little Rock before AM traffic. Only bad part will only have 6 hours left on 70 Thursday but should have just over 3,300 paid miles and 1 extra stop with no payment by Thursday morning. I got the extra $150 already for swapping the Jersey load. Wish I was on paper I would so be under 55 hours and ready to roll Thursday. LOL. I would have more time to run but this new 10 minute post trip thing is killing me.

I see HTQ is back with the jokes. I will admit I have copied and pasted a few to facebook. Just dont tell her.

    Be safe out there

Yeah, a swap driver with a 680 told me he ran on the edge of 13K on the steer axle. I understand it, I don't like it.

Nice that we have pre-pass back, however if I do have to pull in for a weigh, I don't like having a reason to be pulled off to the side for further inspection, even if I do have the axle rating to run the 13K. I guess in some states (like Arkansas) they only allow 12K regardless of the axle rating, unless it has the proper notations, on a plate affixed by the manufacturer (I don't see such a plate).

Anyway, thanks for the confirmation that all of us 680 drivers are in the same heavy boat!

There is a nationwide recall on fruit. I tried to post the article .....maybe it will show up later. Please read this if you have recently purchased fresh fruit and even some bakery goods. http://bit.ly/1A1CGDY

The steering in the 680 is very sensative. I like the curtain in the 700 better and the overhead in the cab was better also in the 700. I do like the set up in the 680 better overall. not much wasted space and lots of drawers

^ Yes, funny you picked out the same items I noticed. I don't like the way this truck handles, the sensitive steering. I fixed up the curtain on this truck, I made it like a one piece using some Velcro strips, and pulled it off the side wall, on the driver's side. Now it is like the T-700.

I am not a complete hammerhead, I do know this is a very nice, modern truck so if this is the truck I am assigned to run long-term. I will be fine with it. Some stuff that I don't like about this truck are not the fault of the 680 designers. Stuff like the loud inverter, if I have just my laptop plugged in alone, the cooling fan is screaming on high. The large interior "closet" box handle is broken by the last driver, so I have to use a bungee cord to keep it from banging while I roll down the road, stuff like that.

Maybe your there is something wrong with your inverter cause mine is pretty quiet. The one you have sounds like it has a few problems I probably wouldnt be in love with it either. I do have to bring mine into shop there is a mist coming out of vents when I run AC and there seems to be water coming from under the middle in the front but only when I am going slow or idle for the 5 minutes we can. When going down the road no water just a little mist. I do miss all the gauges on the 700.
