Sounds like the fit driver might also be the professional driver. Clean truck, organized, polite, good attitude, pride, respect. I could be wrong.

Well I will me a little harsh and say all you freight haulers are the ones who are health nuts. Never seen a driver doing my profession walkimg around for the excersize cause were already wore out. After you load then drive there and unload the last thing in your mind is a walk. It's take these nasty rubber boots off and walk to the sleeper and pass out for a few hours. I have a TV in my truck that hasn't been used in 2 weeks.

I think a lot of drivers are self conscience. They think people are looking at them weird. I was like that. If your tired at the end of the day why not at the start of the day? Drivers rather sit on the cb or on the laptop. They sell adjustable dumbells kinda expensive but money shouldn't matter when it comes to health. Also they sell portable small benches, pull it out and bust out some sets. You can get crossfit stuff too. Like battle rope and kettle bells. Crossfit was made for outside. Plenty of room to carry even the dumbbells and adjustable bench. If your at a shipper go for a jog if they let you and if you know it's gonna be awhile. All this is suggestions some expensive but some pretty cheap. A lot of this stuff wasn't available 8 yrs ago. 10 hrs off is plenty of time to workout. Should only take 30-40 min a day to workout. 3-4 days a week is plenty. You only need 6-8hrs of sleep. A lot Drivers are so out of shape and have a slow metabolisms that they feel they need to sleep 10hrs or more. If they workout they'll wake up earlier and more energy. I used to be like this when I was so out of shape I could sleep 20hrs now it's 5-8 max and I'm up all day or night.

I'm not fat or lazy and I don't park by the door I park on the far corner of the truck stop and I do my best to eat right. At 50yo 6'1" and 190lbs I think I'm doing ok. Why don't I exercise? Because for the 24 years I was in the Army I did pt (physical training) daily and once I retired I pledged not to run another step not even if someone tries to chase me. So far I have managed to keep my pledge and as long as I am in the 190lb range I don't intend to do one bit of exercise.

Same here man... I look back on my army days and thinks of all the hundreds of miles of road marches and hundreds if not thousands of hours of PT... ol' body took some punishment.
