I just read through that thread. Funny stuff. We say it all the time here if you are brand new here do not lease as you have way too much to learn to make it work. I know some have but most fail. Most do not know how to run a log book or a truck. That takes time. When I train I do try to discourage students from going lease if they have not already signed. You know what EM CHIEF says "You can't fix stupid". LOL. No one company is perfect. Just my 2 cents

well the motel............sigh
just 6 more weeks
after investigating all methods of getting my stuff from NJ to WI
it is no more expensive to have a moving co do it then taking time off
flying to nj and packing it and driving myself
I was amazed
whenever I look at posted comments i look at the time spent trucking
I learn something new every day
no offense to new drivers but they dont even know what they dont knowRoad_Kill, jaso36, HometimeQueen and 1 other person Thank this. -
I am not used to women telling me I am right. I once recorded my wife telling me I was right and she was wrong, made it my ring tone. Somehow that phone mysterously disapeared when I was on home time. Should have seen all the looks from married men when I was in line at any stores. They thought it was a great idea. LOLHometimeQueen, dennisroc, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this.

I will admit to telling myself that I need to go to bed so that I can have coffee when I wake up ......and if you really want to know, maybe I have licked the coffeepot clean ......but ......I don't know that I would go so far as to want to spend eternity in a coffee can!

Yep! Before George would even sign on with Trans Am, he told them "No lease!" He did a lot if research, read lots of trucker's forums and such, watched you tube videos about trucking; in general, he checked out the various angles. Like you said, jaso, some people are going to do what they want regardless of experienced people trying to give them practical advice. Well, you know the saying, "It's their funeral!"
Still, it is lame that he tries to make himself appear to be a hero! Guess he's trying to inflate his warped ego!jaso36 and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
That part did crack me up...spend eternity in a coffee can??!!!!! I read some of it to George, and on that he commented, "Who really cares? You're dead!"
Thanks for the laughs, Hometime!!HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
Come one Cranky you did not like that I recorded a women telling me I was right then made it a ring tone. No comments on how I am lucky to still be alive. HTQ get Pete a cup of coffee or something.

If you are a driver you are always on a learning curve.....the King says the same thing, he learns something new everyday. I look back and can see how much has changed in a very short amount of time. I think the trucking industry is always in transition .....the business changes, the highways change, speed limits, regulations, etc. etc. In order to deal with all of that you have to have a good base to work off of and be open to good advice.jungHo Thanks this.

I would fix Pete a cup of coffee but if I remember right he likes Dunkin Donuts coffee. The King can't drink it, except when he needs to drive all night ....it gives him heartburn.
I learned from the best ....my mom's most often used phrase is "I though I was wrong once, but I was mistaken!" .....in other words, she is never wrong even when she thinks she might have been!
jaso36 Thanks this. -
Pete, hang in there. I'm sure it's most frustrating to you and Patti just now, hotels, etc. Hopefully it will very soon be water under the bridge soon and crossing the hurdles won't be too bad. I will be praying things work out well for you two. George & I (when he's home that is) live with my mom. I'm her caregiver. I can sympathize with you guys to some extent, as we have no home of our own either. The future is uncertain. Still, at least we have a place to live for now! Good luck!
HometimeQueen Thanks this.
