How does getting paid work? Do you guys transflo or what? Cargo Transporters was my first pick but due to tickets from being a dumb jarhead at the time I couldn't join them. In August I can though. I don't know if I should just finish out my first year where I'm at though. (December is when its up)

Cargo has in-cab scanners that work thru the Qualcomm. As soon as you get your papers back, you can scan them and close out that run. The scanners do require some minor maintenance, which consists of running a cleaning or calibration sheet thru them maybe once a month. When the system works, it works great. On scale tickets, they process and pay twice a week. I've never had a problem with this. In the beginning i did have problems with my pay, where my fleet leader didn't switch me over from the training rate, but they fixed it immediately and I had no further problems. Back office wise, they do what they say they're going to do.
Blacktop Junkie, if you don't absolutely hate where you are, stay there and finish out your year. It'll put you in a stronger position and get you more money!Blacktop Junkie Thanks this. -
Blacktop,
Listen to Ladyfire. Stay where you are if at all possible for at least a year. Then come to Cargo and we'll give you 41 per mile. Now if it's REALLY bad where you are then you could come in august. But I would try to stay that full year if I could. Looks better on your employment record and gives you that critical ONE year experience.
Blacktop Junkie Thanks this. -
Thanks smurf and ladyfire.Yeah I decided to tough it out the last few months. Its been an interesting year so far with Covenant to say the least.

I am finally back in the country. All I have to do is finish my retirement paperwork (who knows how long that will take), drive home, get the driving school out of the way and I am ready to start putting some miles behind me!
Quick question: Some companies have a program with the GI Bill which assists with pay while learning to be a driver. Does Cargo have that program as well?
EDIT:
Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself. The Apprenticeship Program is something they offer.
