Forgot something in my original post. I am 55 and on a 1 year med card because of high BP and sleep apnea. Will this be an issue in getting on with someone? Been working out, losing weight and no problem lifting 100lbs. I also work 12 - 14 hrs now so long hours not an issue.
just starting out in the bakken

Thanks for the info Oilfieldmike. I have gathered that from other posts about MBI. I have no problem with that and can understand being I am involved with safety and newbies where I am now and we work on substation sites.

Some companies will put you through a little fit test, carrying a heavy weight around, bending down and putting things together. Most do not. There are 25000 open jobs in the Bakken and no one to fill them. If you don't have a job here its because you don't want one. As long as you can drive, get a medical card ni matter how long, you can find a job

Well just went and checked out western ex sub forum and did"t take to long to change my mind on that one.

Yeah Allison Ann/Craig Allen 10-3H right there off 8 and 58th. We have been getting a ton of service work on that site since B14 was on there. Which Marathon jobs? I have a ton of flowbacks going right now and I do recognize your name for sure. Great you are on here! As you know belfield handles all of those fracs. Makes no sense to send you guys all the way up to red mikes when you have Ames there in new town. Hell, even parshall would be a shorter run. -
We are normally pretty solid with our hours/work load. The oil field can vary but we work our company trucks over contractors. Waiting for loads isn't a problem, although when we are getting hammered like we are right now there can be extended waits at disposals and certain companies only approve certain disposals for use so that can complicate things. MBI does hire guys out of school with limited experience but it really is case by case and how bad we are hurting for drivers. As for your time off, I can't speak to the other yards but my pushers are pretty solid and will work with you on your time off but you have to have it submitted before the 20th of the previous month and it is first come first serve, can't have 10 drivers all taking off for a week at the same time type of thing. You'll pretty much have to start in water and work your way over to oil, its just the smarter thing to do in general. There are exceptions to the rule but I can pretty much guarantee you'll get told that you will have to work water first with MBI. At my yard, there are 10 speeds, 13 speeds, 18 speeds and all of our Volvos are automatics.
Youre welcome, glad to help!
dneno Thanks this. -
