I saw a Swift truck a few days ago driving like 5 above the speed limit around the city and he had 2 placards on it, Class 2 gasses and Dangerous (I also don't think the Dangeous was on right) I did eventually catch up to him to make sure I wasn't seeing things
I had always been told Swift doesn't haul them (their saftey score is 1 reason) but can somebody clear this up?

I don't see why Swift wouldn't haul hazmat. Pretty much everyone hauls hazmat unless it is a ma and pa company.
-
When I drove for Swift (left last year), I pulled hazmat every now and then. Dupont was a regular customer, as were Bic and Sherwin Williams. I doubt they've given up that business, regardless of their safety score.
-
Central doesn't

They haul HazMat. I have seen some Swifties with flammable, corrosive, and NOS placards. I am not certain how much training or money they get for it, but they do run it.
-
I have hauled plenty of Haz-Mat with them. My last one was 3 placards

Swift is into everything. They used to do car hauling about 10 years ago too. Why is it so odd that they would haul hazmat?
-
Yep .. haul hazmat. As far as safety ... Swift has no rating that requires interdiction and their overall rating isn't as good as some, but it is better than most.
Take everything you hear with a grain of salt.blsqueak Thanks this. -
They are even hauling tankers now up around the Dakota's and Montana.

I believe they still have a car hauling division in South Texas.
