I came across this while perusing this online publication; http://cdllife.com/2014/featured/video-truckers-friend-demo/ . I am not sure what to think, whether the weaker part of the equation is the user, or the tool? I have a ton of experience with hand tools of many types over some decades, and though I am not a trucker this tool seems more useful as a camping tool than what I imagine would help a trucker.
The hammer (anvil) is curved rather than flat, not very conducive to remaining square to the object being struck, not very safe for the same reason. What were they thinking?
How often would a trucker need an axe or hatchet, how much wood do you split, or how often would you demo a pallet? The man needs a lesson on pallet demo as well, certainly not the most effective way to break one down the way he did.
The hook, it was never demo'ed, what is it for? I can see hooking it on a chain or some such thing, but how is that useful when there are binders to tighten the chain with?
The pry bar? Barely useful, the hook would be better served if it was flat and rotated 90* to serve as a lever. I was expecting the man to jab his foot with the thing while trying to ram it under the 2x4. And where was his safety glasses and boots?
Like the add below the video says "Fight off zombie attacks", I think it the best intended purpose for the hatchet blade on the thing. Do truckers have need to fend off Zombies very often, or only occasionally?
What do you all think? Would you find it handy?

I'd like to see him split a seasoned oak log with it rather than some soft rotten poplar. It might work camping but that's about it. He did make the rocks for the fire ring and kindling, lol. How many truck stop campfires do you see? Fiberglass handles are terrible for demo. Use that on a remodel demo and the handle would splinter in no time. I'll stick with a crow bar and trusted Estwing hammer.
Make sure you bust up that wood pallet before you throw it in the dumpster or weeds by spending $60 in the store. Like them guys really care.
