Yeah, that is pretty harsh. Pretty hard hit. It never ceases to amaze me, peoples negative views towards truck drivers, until they see something like this, then it's, "oh, that poor truck driver and their family".

I detoured that. Took US11 through Bloomsburg and out toward Danville.

Road report was something big and bad happened. Sad to see it was a trucker not making the trip home.

    Be safe out there.

I always hate to see that someone is not going how, trucker or not. Following distance is something I have always stressed. Its all about time that distance gives you the time to avoid problems.

God be with all the families involved.

It's really sad to see a mans personal belongings scooped up into that front end loader. RIP to the deceased and thoughts to their family.

Drivers, BACK OFF and leave space. When you're behind someone on the fast lane, I'm tired of people being one foot off the trailers bumper. They aren't going any faster doing that and if you're worried about cars cutting in front of you, get real. It just means you're an impatient fool.

This should also be an important lesson when slow trucks pass you, IE a truck that can only do 1-2 MPH faster, SLOW down 1-2 mph, just think, if they are going 60 MPH, and you're doing 59 MPH, then you slow down 1 MPH to 58 MPH, they will pass you TWICE as fast. Brilliant. I watched a US Express truck yesterday passing a container on I-40 in Arkansas near the construction, there must have been a 1/2 MPH difference, need less to say after 5 minutes the container had to back off because he had to get over into the left lane. If he had slowed down, there wouldn't be a 30 car back up and there would be room for you to get by. But you don't think.

The moral is, DON'T hang next to big trucks and leave space!

    BE SAFE, not stupid. Thanks.

I thought that too. I'm sure that was the last thing on their mind when they started the day, that a skid steer would be scooping up the remains of their truck. You could see in the wrecker guy's face that it bothered him, but he had a job to do. I have a good friend that operates a towing company, and he wanted to hire me, after 1 or 2 calls, I said, sorry, this ain't for me.
