Co Driver doing 65 in the 55 on I 84. Pulled over and cited with 811.111 of the Oregon's commercial vehicle code.

Cited for 10 over speed limit. Considered a Class D Traffic Offense which is said to be the lowest form of traffic offenses in oregon, but we are from California and Oregon doesnt have a point system.

How will this fine translate on to the CA DMV MVR. Will he get a point on the CA system?

You will get 2 points on csa scale. You cannot get more than 8 in two years.

In the eyes of the California DMV, speeding is a 1 point violation regardless of whether it occured in California or out of state. The mph doesn't matter.

CDL holders are held to a higher standard -- every point 'earned' in a commercial vehicle is worth 1.5 -- so he will have 1.5 points on his CA dmv record. 4 points and the DMV will suspend your license.

And if the 10mph speeding violation was noted on a roadside inspection form, then the company will get 12 CSA points (4 points for 6-10mph over times 3 multiplier for being less than 12 months old). Those points will also appear on the driver's PSP.

Ouch.. whats sucks is I came out the sleeper, sat down and said "man, dude you are going way to fast" he was really going 68. 2 min later, flashing lights. The trooper was pumped up. "Why were you going that fast? Huh? Huh? Huaaaaaaaaahhh? " "calm down sir", my co driver said lol. "We are in the middle of ####### nowhere! What the ####?" My co driver pleads.

The cop responds "does this look like Texas" my co driver "no,Texas is like 75/80" ............Awkward Silence. ......"get the #### out of the truck" the cop responds in an attempt to be as calm as possible.

    Me! Rolling on the floor.

Good times. Thanks for the info.

Drivers don't get points when it comes to csa and psp, etc....only the companies get points.
