    That's the thru shaft, only 4 bolts hold it on case,but yours looks like case is gone.

    Yeh looks like the housing broke and the output shaft bearing carrier flopped out.

    Take out the inter-axle driveshaft, duck tape the opening, lock the power divider and drive 'er on home! Gonna need new housing anyway.
