We are all a bunch of show people. We live to be show offs. Just once I got to show them how to climb a mountain. Eagle mountain in Tenn. I lied & told them We have drywall 13 feet high under the gift wrap. It was Styrofoam for flower shops. We came up Eagle @ 60 mph. Made fun of the (slow trucks) with a real payload. Wife was laughing so hard she used the trash bucket on her side. 3408 Cat, with a full wagon.

i didn't know they had mountains on the east, period. a lot of bumps in the ground, maybe. but mountains.

that sign on the 80 in PA. that says "highest peak east of the mississippi, 2500 feet"

heck, my own city is 2000 feet higher then that. LOL.

Back in the 80's I was pulling the Baker Grade with a load of produce, hanging out in the center lane as usual passing trucks. Had a 3408. I looked back in my mirrors and saw a black W9 coming on strong so I moved to the right to let an empty truck go around me. When he went by I looked at his tires and they looked like horseshoes. He was loaded at lest as heavey as me and ate my lunch. Was fun to watch.

Maybe a Kt 450 or Kt600 that's about the only engine then that would whip a 3408. But they were just to heavy. Just like we all like the w9 but its just to #### heavy, everybody wants 50 k in the trailer now.

I remember one night coming out of Florida and 3 bull wagons were chatting it up on the cb. I figure I'll jump in with them and hit the line then cruise on through Alabama. First one passes and I start speeding up to pick up the rear. And that's the end of the story....I never even got freaking close! I wasn't even that heavy in the box. They must've been running bull turds in their tanks! Ever since then I just stay in the granny lane and slow down even more when I see those guys and gals coming up so I don't even get tempted again

Awww heck, I come up the rock so fast I have to slow down for the curves and chew gum to keep my ears from popping from the rapid change in elevation!
