Picked up a load this morning where the trailer was prespotted up in the hills of northern montanna....had to make my own BOL. Its locked with owners lock so I really have no clue whats in it...supposedly HHG, S., but who knows. Is this kind of thing common? What do I tell DOT if asked? Thanks.
Strange Loads....

Not me..It could be anything..
They should know better than not leave you with anything about the load.
I have had this happen on a dedicated account, but should have let it sit.
I was lucky, and wont do it again. We all need to get paid, but getting knicked
for hauling God knows what will have us looking at paying fines,or worse

Charli Girl, toostroked, misc and 2 others Thank this. -
During Christmas I haul loads for UPS and FEDX, The BOL says 1 trailer dry freight, non hazmat, 35,000 lbs. Shipper Load, Count And Sealed #
Dont really know whats in them, dont really care. loaded sealed by the shipper. If DOT wants in them Im ok with that, just sigm who entered and resealed.
I have hauled loads off military bases, that simply said MILITARY SURPLUS, FOR LOAD INFO CALL DOD then a number.rockee Thanks this. -
Probably a rolling meth lab.

To my way of thinking, there is a big difference between hauling a load labeled "FAK," from a known shipper, than there is hauling a load that you have to make and fake your own BOL. Also a big difference if the shipper is NOT known. Personally, I don't think I'd touch it, even if I was a company driver and was told to grab it.Pmracing Thanks this.

Paranoia will get you no where.........
-
If you make the bills out like 'olhand said whats the worry? You are not "faking" the bills and.....just because the shipper is not known to you, does not mean they are not known.
-
The main worry is that you are hauling stolen goods, or a load of dope. Or both. And then, just try to convince law that you "had no idea what is in the truck."
Paranoid? Not at all, just common sense.
