BTW, TA still only paying $50 NYC pay? My company pays $200.
dennisroc Thanks this. -
Generally, I love my job and enjoy what I do.... then..... something like this happens. Have had 50 cases of meat put back on my truck, cause only 400 were order and 450 were sent. It's a Sunday and the buyer can't be contacted, the O'S&D people of the shipper can't be contacted, and my company say's they'll do something..... once they get out of bed. Meanwhile. .... here I sit, getting pissed off, and knowing that there is not a dang thing I can do about it. Thank god, that such rank stupidity, doesn't happen often.

My plans are blown to bits. Get here and got a POS 02 trailer. I messaged dispatch and told them whoever brought it in needs to be shot. Mud flap hanging in by one bolt and a badly bent bracket and some crappy tires but the one in need of immediate attention is dry rotted with a large deep gouge in the sidewall near the rim. Sitting outside the plant to get this fixed because I can't slide tandems with the mud flap and bracket like this. And when I get this stuff fixed I have to go back into JBS to be reworked because I pulled it across the scale with tandems all the way to the rear and got 12760/27620/38200. So in the meat hole I would be nearly 7000 lbs overweight. Ugh.

^ Is that a one stop load? I never had to have a meat load reworked, do they normal get right on it or will it be a big long time delay?
What is TA $50 NYC pay?
I am back in Olathe to turn in the 680. I spent almost 4 days with the breakdown of my 660 and the recovery of this 680. I put in for 3 days of layover/breakdown pay, came back with approval of only 2 days. No explanation why 3rd day was cut.
Now my next truck is not yet ready, I get to sit around all day, unpaid (Sunday, so no layover pay) to wait until tomorrow when the shop opens again.
You're welcome TransAm, glad I could bring you back your nice, high value 680 to the yard as you wanted and loose two days of pay to do it.dennisroc and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
This is not being a good Sunday, is it? Wonder if it's going better for other people?

Seems like, when I was there, TA would pay you an extra $50, to go into NYC. Sooooo, did they at least give you a motel room, or are they making you stay in one of the cells, or are you still in the truck you brought back?
-
^ First I had heard of $50 NYC pay. I have been to NYC a few times and no extra pay ever hit my check.
I could stay in the 680 I brought back, all my stuff is still in it, but I am in one of the cells just as a change of pace.
I was going to let the shorted day of layover pay go, it is just exhausting to have to fight for a lousy $50. However, since I will likely be here until Monday morning, it will give me a chance to go into the office and demand the pay I was entitled to.
What is your guess on how your company will handle the extra 50 cases? Donate them someplace? Work out a discount and the original receiver will take them? -
discount and original will sell them for retail

I'm now in St. Joseph, MO to sleep. Told dispatch that at this point I don't care if the load even gets to Alabama. I'm going to bed until I feel up to running again. I'm livid that all if this was beyond screwed up, starting Friday with the planners. I spent a couple hours seriously considering dumping this on the yard but then decided I don't feel like dealing with construction in Olathe. So I stopped in St Joe.
gntorres61 and passport220 Thank this.
