I may be out there again very shortly myself. Not sure if at the end of May or June. Depends.

Some of them do run into CA, but not much. Mostly the long haul or IC's.

I run spells where I run MS a lot. Several times they have bounced me there to pick up when I drop in New Orleans which is odd because we pick up at the port a lot. I think you would do pretty good from being down there. I run a lot of coils down there and bring a lot of lumber out of there.

Ok than because there were some trucks loaded down with lumber. Well i'ma have to stick it out and just wait and see what happen. What fleet should i run to get good hometime. I know not specialized but like regional or us division whats the difference, and is the hometime just a 34hour restart?? if you can answer...

Well, I figured id give a brief update here. After part of my training here, i honestly must say that Maverick is Great. They are Honest, straight foward, very professional. There Instructors are true seasoned professional truck drivers. They not only teach you the right way but also the safe way. If you have a question or many questions during training the instructors answer you with a professional correct answer. You are respected, and treated professionaly. You cant ask anything else. Yes you will have to work. But I dont mind working, alittle dirt and sweat is good, it helps to keep a person physically fit. It all wash's off in the shower.
    Id recomend Maverick to everyone.
PS the owner of Maverick is the son of a professional truck driver, and the owner is also a professional truck driver. Maverick is a Family company that grew out of alot of hard work. They care about the drivers and there families. Im proud to be a new-driver for Maverick.

I think it depends on where you live at as to what div you are in. I am in the US div and get home on weekends. I get in a lot on fridays and leave out sunday afternoons. There is times where I only get 34 at home and have to run. I got in saturday at noon and I will leave out early mon morning as I am 3.5 hours from my drop. It has to be there by 10am, but I plan on dropping at 7 am when they open. I try to leave and get close to my drop so I can have 11 hours to drive on mondays or somewhere close to that. By the time I get my 34 in this week if I were to leave earlier, I would have to stay down there several hours waiting for my 10 hours break to end. They might tell me I have to leave when they unload me so I will just leave early monday morning.

I push hard to get home on the weekends, but I listen to my body also. If I am tired there is no since in getting in at 2 am on saturday. I would sleep the day away anyway. I get a shower bed down and come on in sometime saturday well rested. I have shut down 55 miles from the house before because I was tired and had to cross two narrow bridges that I don't like crossing when I am wide awake. Plus it would have been late at night and everyone would have been in bed at home anyway.

As far as the div they will bounce you all over the place no matter what div you are in.

How does Maverick handle driving with a trainer. Do you run as a team, where the truck gets lots of miles but the trainer and trainee don't see much of each other, or do you run on the same clock so that the time together is spent on training? If so, what about sleeper time? Do trainers have double bunks in their trucks?
