I have never been to a TA location. I am a 'Canada Only Driver'. Although if you are interested it would save you about to $200 per month in shower cost's here in Canada with a gym membership. I found that 'Golds Gym' have their locations close to the hwy and the most convenient in regards to access. International gym membership is about $60 per month or the cost of about five showers.
Dream truck stop for me is one with a big dirt lot with a good watering hole within walking distance.

That's because there is little profit from a truck driver spending 8 hours in their lot. Especially when you have to clean up all the trash and pee bottles when they leave.
Things I would love about a truck stop - 1. Within walking distance to a shopping center with a grocery store or big box store, CB/chrome shop and a rental car place. 2. Wifi which is high speed and doesn't get overburdened from truckers logging into it. 3. Offers business services center similar to FedEx Office which offers rental time on computers or allows users to connect to printers, access to fax machines and copiers and offers shipping services whether it's UPS, FedEx or USPS. 4. The onsite restaurant or coffee shop has outlets at every booth. 5. Has eating options other than just Arby's or Subway. 6. Offers a quiet area with comfortable chairs. It's nice to get away from the engine noise, reefers, loud TVs and people who speak fluently in YELL. 7. Has a vacuum station for vacuuming out your cab. $1.50 for 15 minutes of vacuum use. This is fine at a truck wash, too. 8. A laundry room with enough washers and dryers. 9. If your truck stop caters to bus traffic, please-please-please build trucker-only bathrooms away from the public/bus restrooms. I like to use bathrooms in which I don't have to step around wads of poop-stained toilet paper and dirty diapers on on the floor.
