So when is it hitting the road?

And I don't get into that whole this truck vs that truck deal. They all have their good and bad points. I worked in a GM dealership for a lot of years. When you hear Chevy sucks Fords are the best blah blah blah type of crap everyday it cures a guy of that.

Just waiting to hear back from landstar. Put in my app 2 weeks ago and everybody knows it's not a fast process so I'm hoping for the end of august.

  4. Dont put your all into Landstar, just in case its a wash. Get three or 4 others in the works. Then when it happens you will be choosing who to work for not scrambling to find one.

My Chevy of choice was the K5 Blazer. Had a 73, 80 and 87. I didn't hate Ford or Dodge, it was just that the PowerWagons of the 70s were ugly, and that twin traction beam stuff that Ford did in 80 was garbage. Saw the Fall Guy and GM won out. That old Hondo that Kevin Bacon drove in the first Tremors movie was killer, but I could never find a step side shortbed Hondo. Wanted the CJ6, or a Scout, but couldn't find a decent one.

Unfortunately, everyone wanted a car like ride and the Chevy 4x4s got girlier and girlier. I know you can build them any way you want, but you have to at least start with a decent platform. The K5s ran from 1973-1991 unchanged. There were plenty of them and plenty parts. Then everyone started using their parts for the older hot rods. Between GM putting out junky engines, trannies, axles and t-cases and the scavenging, I gave up on 4 wheel drives and went to sports cars.

I would have never imagined that sports cars would be more expensive than 4x4s.

    Always!

Got the prime rib special, loaded baked potato. Good beer food. Had a cute barkeep that couldn't multitask, so picking on her confused her. Everyone got a laugh out of that. Someone started buying everyone shots of Patron. Got hungry again, made the mistake of ordering their bleu cheese burger, hold the fungus. I don't care for bleu cheese, but been watching those food show things when I was at home, so am trying new stuff.

OMG, was it good! I'm not a fan of burgers, but that was outstanding! I'm actually trying to remember the last meal I enjoyed that much. Can't remember where I was at, but I had this steak that was stuffed with crabmeat. I think I need to do Royal Carribean once more.

I had two very close calls this weekend, almost wrecked Saturday night going down the valley when some idiot decided to cut me off while another idiot was riding his tractor down a 70 mph road, and then tonight had a deer in the middle of 89 north just stand there, hit the brakes a bit too hard and broke all 8 tires on the back of the truck loose and put it in a slide that I was able to recover from, I have both incidents on video. Will post them sometime in the next couple of days.

One thing is for sure, my heart rate is up.
