Not how it works in phoenix! Not a chance at the mines, they check everyone coming in and they're both in the middle of nowhere. Allied tube makes you tarp off property and the aluminum plant has you tarp on site.

I think I had a bird hit my windshield today in iowa. It was something bigger than a bug and it sounded soft. Didn't actually see it hit, but I heard it!

Last time I posted I was in Chicago, there I picked up pipe to Fort Payne AL, then picked up on Friday in Birmingham Kansas City, KS(very short load for a weekend, but oh well) delivered this morning and to compensate for the short load on the weekend, was deadheaded to McPherson, KS to pick up plastic pipe to Lodi, CA..got to be there Thursday morning..had the option to head up to I80 or down to I40 across. chose 40, not as many mountains...lol

Also on Friday was transferred to Fleet 27, Paul Owens as DM, seems like a real nice guys..

Good chance you'll go to CASS. It's about 90 miles west of Lodi. Pretty bad area in oakland. It's a metal recycling plant. There's nowhere safe nearby to park. You could get finished ingots, bales of scrap radiators and or bales of miscellaneous scrap. All of it is tarped. The scrap does a number on your tarps.

You have to pull into their yard to scale, and back out onto the street. It's a very busy place, they do stop traffic for you. They'll have you drop your trailer on the street and they'll take it into a warehouse. Then pull onto the scale again and back onto the street again. I was there finishing up tarping once after the sun went down. Very uneasy feeling with the people out there after dark. I made sure my winch bar was always within reach!

i am stopped in willcox az for the day off the 10. have about 170 miles to go to first drop and i have to be there by 6am. its fairly early, i can leave by 230am and make it.

i was reading the bol for the 1st stop and it says total weight 117 pounds. am i seriously stopping at a place to drop off a couple things that weigh that much? that seems like a huge waste of time considering ill have to untarp and i used all 3 tarps.

When i have multiple stops, I'm make sure I know what's going where so I know what tarps I need to move to deliver. More ofter than not I just undo one side of the tarp and hold it up while they pull their freight out.
