No. But will next time. I only bobtail in, park for an hour, fill a cart and leave which shouldn't be illegal. Funny how a truck driver gets treated like a scum bag because normally I'm the one in line paying with cash, not food stamps.

Proper trip planning and no need to park at a walmart. Truck stops n rest areas are ment for overnight not a kmart or walmart.

First off, wal-mart in Neosho MO right east of the I-49 and US60 hwy exit has dedicated truck parking for about 20 or so trucks on the north end of the lot. As for other places, watch for the grocery stores in the strip malls with larger lots, some of those don't mind if you park and shop. IE....Take exit 6 off of I-66 in Front Royal VA and follow the road north back up to Winchester and just before you get back to I-81 there is a shopping center on the right (you will be looking at it from the west end.) with a decent priced grocery store on the east end and you are aloowed to park along the north edge of their lot, just beware that the lot is tight to manuver in and it is best to enter from that west end because the drives on the front street go between buisiness's along the street with the strip mall behind them and those two drives are very tight. Also there is an HEB in Texas off of 35 I think it was on my way to Lerado but I can't remember where, if I ever get down there again I will post where.

Gotta go along on that one. I have made a ton of money pulling in and out of Wally World and Sam's Club DC's and now and then a retail store. WM saved me a ton of money not having to eat at the truck stops and buying a bunch of what they (the T/S's) sell a lot cheaper at WW too. I almost always buy something (which is usually why I'm there in the first place - to stock my truck AND take my break; It's the whole time management thing) and tape the receipt to my driver window so they can see I was a patron. I'm not idling and I'm outta everyone's way. I don't leave trash and my truck don't leak. If it says No Truck Parking - I don't. If It doesn't I do. Never been run off or even questioned. Same with any retail parking lot I borrowed for the night. Can't say for sure, but I think taping the receipt for a purchase and making sure my area was clean and I was quiet and outta the way and not in violation of a sign probably had something to do with it. Who knows? Maybe I just been lucky.

The West Memphis Wal-Mart has a dedicated truck parking area on the left side if your looking at the building. Were you parked in that area? If not then they will run you off. It is marked with signs saying that is the only area trucks can park.

You can park at the Temple texas walmart or sams club. there is a road between walmart and the mall that trucks park on all the time also. I even see dropped trailers on that road. lots of resturants nearby.

I've stopped at many Walmart and I'm usually way out of the way. I've parked at a mall before and rent a cop saw me and said hey sorry to bother you but there is a spot over on the other side that's almost always empty and won't have to deal with idiots.

Walmart just North of Chattanooga used to allow truck parking until some drivers started parking in the car parking area, even with plenty truck parking available. I saw a Werner truck parked almost in the front door of the Walmart, partially blocking traffic and taking up many car parking spots. He was just sitting in the drivers seat ogling women. He was there when I got in my bunk and still there when I finally left.

I pulled into the main lot. I did notice a no truck sign on the way out. It's small and weathered but it is there. I just couldn't believe how personally the old man took it when I pulled in. It's not like I was pulling a hazmat tanker. He went on a tirade about how he use to drive a truck and he use to read the signs. His face turned red. "you all think its a joke." WOW. A simple, you can't park here would be sufficient.
    Good info here.:biggrin_25514:

Walmart stock has been a very bad investment the last 10 years, and also since Sam Walton died, if you bought their stock in the old days then I suppose that is right. There aren't alot of places for truck drivers to shop, they are the bottom rung of society so they belong at walmart.
