My paychecks are ok. I stay out two wks at a time. They seem to roller coaster. I think you guys further south make better pay than us mid-Atlantic drivers. I know driver's that double my pay. Highland drivers make best IMO.
As far as loading I think I do ok ,for being here 7 months.

My pay wasn't bad unless I went home. Us guys down south don't often get good freight heading home and often a long deadhead is involved. It's a tradeoff I think. I'm not sure how living down south would affect my pay because most loads I hauled started and ended at terminals other than mine.

If your taking offense at "you guys down south". I didn't mean it as such.
Trucking is all about shipping lanes and location, and if you don't see that your fooling yourself.
That's all I meant by it. I'm in a bad location. As far as long distance runs go. which sounds ridiculous
considering I live a few miles from I- 95, but Chesapeake doesn't have good freight going out. It's the
    sad truth.
When I load out of Florence 9 times out of 10 I'm getting a Havre De Grace load (400) miles. I average
about 300 miles a load. Now when a driver that lives west of Florence loads he gets something going
west a lot of times ,for example Oklahoma. I ask Mr. Dog for that load and was told no it goes to one of our western drivers.
Now I may be mistaken and if I am I apologize before hand, but I believe Shanebone that you made a
comment on this forum that you drive an insane amount of miles a week. Somewhere in the range of 3000.
chesapeake and Parkersburg drivers average about 2000.
Why do you think all the Parkersburg drivers are leaving. If the were making 1500$ a wk nobody would
    leave.
No there all going over to 1st class who is guaranteeing 1200 $ a wk.
If I'm wrong and you didn't say that I apologize . I'm certainly not trying start a fight on here. Just venting
about bring honme 4 to 500 a wk.

$500/wk is brutal. I'm not sure why you'd stay if it's that bad. Maybe I averaged more miles than some but I was always under the command of central dispatch so I can't see how I would be treated any different than other terminal drivers who run system freight. I never went to Chesapeake so you obviously have more knowledge of their loads than I do. If they don't have freight that will get u in the system then I see why our experiences are vastly different. As far as 3000 miles go yes I have seen that but it wasn't common and quite frankly the pay wasn't worth wanting it. Running that many miles would give u decent pay with no hours to start the next week. I preferred 1900 to 2500 miles. That would give me ld/unld revenue with some detention pay to make up for the lost miles and I'd never run out of hours. You never offended me with the down south comment. I knew it was simply a reference to drivers out of highlands and br. I was just pointing out that I seldom load out of the south. Most of the time I did was when I'm leaving the house.

I'm in that 2500 mile a week is plenty boat. Any more than that and the next week (or 2) turns into a recapping nightmare. I also run Canada freight, so I have to watch my hours and days off a little differently. Sometimes I wish my truck allowed me to run west, sometimes not. #### CARB!

Decatur is a good terminal to work from. As a system driver about the only time I'm there is first run out and last run back for the duration. All terminals have their own manager.

Hi guys, I went for an interview with A&R at the Morris IL terminal last week and I was offered a driver position. I have been seeing a lot of negative comments about the company in regards to how they sold to an investment company a few years ago. This kind of made me weary of accepting the job. I was also curious if the Morris terminal is a good terminal to work out of (seemed to be very large). I am really interested in getting into bulk transport, and I wanted to see how your experience with the company has been currently.
