I think his post was directed at those who could not make it at Roehl, and not at drivers like you that were successful at Roehl but chose to leave for a better paying job, or one that had better hometime etc...
And with you bringing home $1800 a week after taxes (which is about $130,000 per year) you are in the very top level of income in the trucking industry. In fact, I would say that over 90% of owner operators do not make $130k per year in taxable income. So nobody can blame you for leaving Roehl. In fact, if I could make 130k per year with another company I would leave Roehl as well.

Truthfully ill be in the 75 k range winter slows down for this company. Spring and summer are crazy.

And in my book thats all good. Heck when I was looking for home every night I was willing to take a paycut. It worked out to be a raise.

Most of the people in this thread didn't have an issue "making it at Roehl". It's just a place for ex Roehl drivers to talk about what they're doing now. Roehl Apologists and Cheerleaders not required. I have seen so many Roehl drivers come and go on this forum. They run in cycles, today's die hard newbies (who for some reason feel compelled to rush to the defense of any comment that may seem to paint even a hint of negative picture) will be tomorrow's ex-Roehlies.

Works both ways. Ex-roehlies in many other threads than just this one beating up the company and strutting their new jobs. Nothing wrong with some of us being happy we're still here. Doesn't mean we're not happy for them, but beating up a company after you're gone is poor form in my opinion. Some of us are doing very well here. Lots of potential new drivers are scouting out companies and see negative comments. I think it's only fair they hear both sides.

Point is iam making more money after taxes. But between feb to november I make bank with this company.

At best I was makeing 45 k with roehl. Hitting 75ish a year and sleeping at home almost everday. Dont think I made a bad choice. Would I ever come back to roehl I highly doubt it. I have grown to like working for a 8 truck company. I knew the owner of this company since I have been 8 years old. He found I was driving for roehl he came to me to get me as a driver

Unlike Roehl's and most other company's Facebook pages the benefit of this forum is that you get the good, bad and ugly. Company sponsored sites such as what you find on Facebook are little more than recruiting drivel. There are many reasons to stay and many to go. If you are finding what you want in a job, or career at Roehl that is great and stay. For others life changes and it is time to move on. I have talked with many drivers who feel Roehl is a great place to start, but after a couple of years it's time to move on. I have also talked with drivers that are finishing up their driving careers and the hometime options are perfect for them. My point is that this site is only useful if it gives both sides.

My experience AFTER Roehl has been great so far! I've been getting 3300-3700 on average my highest was this past week and I cleared just under 4k. My pay has been triple than what I was making at Roehl, I have an awesome dispatcher she always has atleast 2 trips already planned before I drop. I've been running like crazy and have still manged my clock so I don't ever take a 34. They also just gave me a 2015 Volvo along with a 2015 trailer. I could go on and on about my new company. I'll be here a long time, oh and NO MICRO MANAGING! I take my own route fuel where I want. Roehl was a decent start for me, my trainer was awesome and very helpful. I believe everything lead me up to this point, but I couldn't be happier. Stay safe out there y'all and HAMMER DOWN!

I agree, Roehl is a great place to start, and, or home time, but for a career, I doubt it's good for most. They were perfect for what I needed at the time, but the micro managing bs, just only sped up my search for something else.

    My search as well.
Still looking. Not going to jump into the lap of another
    company knee jerk style.
No this is going to be methodical.
Current research is MTS and Grassmid in MI.
Both offer more cash flow with same home time.
