sorry to vent , but I have made several calls filled out the online apps numerous times. with no call backs or anything since my recruiter apparently left. Are they famous for this ? I understand they get alot of calls but after 10 or more voice mails and 4 or more online apps you would have thought I would hear something. They also have a guy ranting on facebook about their wonderful followups. Anyone in the Phoenix terminal have any input ? or kick them in the a@#, they could be missing out on some really good potential drivers.
oh and yes I wanted to drive down to PHX this week but 1 of my service techs is out and my office girl as well so I am stuck going everyones jobs and cant break away. any advice would be appreciated.

Knight isn't the only fish in the sea.
Schneider has a new program funding CDL school and it's a good company. I'll bet the Schneider recruiter won't avoid you.

    azsteve Thanks this.

Look at it this way...their loss is your gain somewhere else...look at at also this way...the utter lack of communication by them is the norm at knight...you definitely seem to have the drive to succeed, you'll do just fine elsewhere...

    azsteve Thanks this.

I have had a couple other companies call me but liked the regional that Knight was offering.I dont mind being out a couple weeks at a time , but 4-5 weeks would be tough. made knight look attractive,I am in AZ and many have said go with swift :( I could probably get a dedicated here.rambling thanks I will look into Scheider

Swift or Schneider would be good.
Someone from Phoenix posted Schneider is building a huge warehouse/terminal in Phoenix.

Thanks again Chinatown, I did hear that they were. I will call them tomorrow :) I am the squeaky wheel. My whole thought was to keep as much pay coming in as possible, I havent let my family down in 32 years, and dont want to add pressure to my wife. I am leaving a decent job to follow my passion, I did growup on a dairy farm, and had lots of experience with grain trucks and tractors backing hay wagon etc.. and out of school went over the road with family that bought and sold hay to the race tracks. I guess I know kind of what I am getting into. I manage a door company now at 2 locations and have done this way to long and tired of carrying these offices on my shoulders, getting people with good work ethics is hard anymore. I am so ready for this change.

I don't know the name of the companies, but there are 3 milk tanker companies in Phoenix. Probably something to look at a year or so down the road. Get all the endorsements on your license so you're prepared if a better paying job becomes available.

When I was pulling refrigerated trailers, my coworkers said they couldn't understand why I kept the tanker/hazmat endorsements on my license. I worked there a few years, then one day a OTR tanker company ran an ad needing a driver ASAP. I applied and was hired. Pay jumped $15K that year. Easiest job I ever had.

I had the same issue with the Indy terminal. I was going to be a rehire. Wound up contacting the terminal manager. Decided to stick out the local job for now.
