In Cookeville, Tn. at Super Truck Stop, or I think that is the name. Suppose to deliver in Mount Vernon, Tx. 8-2 but should be able to make it tomorrow. Got my pre-plan picking up in Dallas early time 8-1 2100 with delivery 8-4 Longmont, Co. 2359. Is this a drop-n-hook on both ends? And if I pull up in Dallas Coke-Cola plant early will they have me loaded already? Figured maybe some of you have done this run before. Would love to get a head start.
Cranky I just thought you cut the cheese not hauled it around.
Be safe out theredennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Dallas Coke is drop and hook. Have fun, it's tiny! Dunno about the Longmont half. That app time sounds like either drop and hook or the delivery is not yet scheduled.
jaso36 Thanks this. -
Thanks Honeybadger that is what I was thinking. It is MCLANES I am suppose to be delivering to so I can't imagine a drop-n-hook but you never know. Plus it is only a preplan so it might change before I deliver this load

I am waiting to get out of Dodge ... literally.
I have been here 23:17. If the load is not ready in another 43 minutes I will apply for layover pay. Then spend the next two weeks following up, annoying my DM to MAYBE get it.HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
Good evening everyone. My goodness you have been well behaved while I was gone today!
Gold stars for everyone's map pins! JohnBoy, where are you heading to.....need to put you on the map.
Pete, going east or west?
melo, where are you at now?
Just an observation, but it does seem as if for the most part that planning is much better than what it once was. There were many times in the old days that it seemed to be a hit or miss proposition. We learned to always strive for an early delivery and start hitting for a preplan while you were still a couple of hundred miles out. That put your name on the list with the planners and they scheduled you much sooner than if you waited until you were empty. -
I hit the 037 just after I send in my 003 on shorter runs, about 24 hours before delivery on longer runs during daytime hours when the planners are around. The first time 7:30am comes around otherwise.
I think freight has been slow the last couple of weeks. Olathe lot was full of empty trailers and bobtails. When I was in the Fleet Management office, I heard one DM say he currently had 23 out of the 90 trucks he was working with, with outstanding empty calls.dennisroc and HometimeQueen Thank this. -
Sitting here at the Bi-Lo DC in Mauldin SC spending the night. Couldnot find parking at the TA in Duncan SC, nor the Pilot in Piedmont and this at 6pm. Yeesh, didn't think it would that tough. Next time, I will come straight here. Once I drop, in the morning, I can start my clock and only have five hours left to drive so a short day tomorrow.
