Srry to hear hope everything works out and gets better. I am currently still in school have a week left and we have been getting alot of recruiters in talking to us and for me personally h.o.w sound the best for me. I have about a week left of school and need to make start getting income again lol it Sucks not having any money. I did alot of research on company's before school and had a plan on who I was gunna go with. Not sure if it's something I will stick with being it's my first cdl job but if it goes good I will definitely stick around with them. It's hard to get into this kind of career because it's a different world and alot to think about like family, events and living situation. So I don't blame you for taking time to get stuff figured out. I guess that's why I got on this site to get an idea of the jobs and the rough idea of being a trucker.

To clarify I just turned in app yesterday tomorrow I find out about approval. If I do I will definitely keep forum updated on how it goes and what goes on.

Duramax what kind of bonus do they have for SW WI? Extra cents per mile or a sign on? Not many give a sign on for new drivers though that I'm aware of.

They are giving 2000 sign on bonus only for a certain time period it goes from 6/1/14 to 9/1/14. Also paying 10000 towards student loan. They pay 200 a month for student loans and bonus after you are hired is payed monthly . the first month is 500 and every other month is 560 till bonus is paid.

Just to add, they will pay your loan off directly for you. Makes life easy, one less bill to worry about.

And they don't pay 'student loans' persay, they pay your schooling. So for instance, I paid about half of my school, and the other half in a loan, they are paying my loan first, and once that is payed off, they will be paying me the 200 directly into my check to cover my half that I paid for the school.

That said, they don't pay any interest on the loans, and you are not actually hired until you get back from your Trainer, pass your final road test with Fran, and get your truck assigned, so you may have to pay 1 or 2 payments depending how quickly the process moves for you. I had to pay 1.

So there is a downside or two you guys should be aware of.

    duramax1 Thanks this.

That is correct. I'm really excited to get going with them hopefully as long as it all goes well with trainer and final test.

I am confident that once you get that far, it's very hard for it not to go your way. When they've already spent a bunch of money and time on you, it's in their best interest to work with you a bit to get you driving for them.

There was a gentleman that ran over a sign his first solo trip, they worked with him still after that.

    Don't do that btw :p

Haha wow. That's good to hear though that they will work with you. I'm new at trucking but I have back trailers for years and driven in busy area like Chicago. If you don't mind me asking what do you roughly make at h.o.w and are you happy with them?

Just depends on how much you want to work. I believe there pay is a bit lower than others, but I don't sit often, and I had another driver just yesterday say he got the same miles I do in 7 days, that I usually run in 5.

Im happy with them, haven't had an issue yet that wasn't fixed, and ended up good for me.
