Burlington Skyway Bridge Strike

    A dump truck driver Sukhvinder Singh Rai, 34 attempted to cross the Burlington Skyway bridge at 3:40PM with his dumpbox raised, he struck the bridge and caused extensive damage. Subsequently he was arrested and charged with one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of blood alcohol level exceeding 80 milligrams while operating a motor vehicle. Damage to the bridge was extensive and it will likely be closed for some time.

    The pictures on that link are quite impressive, I am just glad that nobody was seriously hurt. I can only imagine what the CB chatter would have sounded like while he edged closer and closer to the bridge heh.

    I go through there at least once a week ... without that bridge open traffic is going to be even more of a nightmare than it already is. Times like these I am happy to be a night time produce hauler ...

    I think the funniest thing about it besides him being Intoxicated is that the truck going under at the same time to the right of him is called "SMART"

    I got a kick out of that.... I'm sure one of the late night comedians like Kimmel or Fallon would eat that up...
