Good morning everyone. Another busy day for me. Is everyone's Facebook page down? dennisroc, there are several websites that can give you a general idea on route planning. TransAm for the the most part always used the "practical" route ....with a few exceptions. Take a look at www.truckmiles.com, it allows you to switch between the practical route and the shortest route. It gives you a breakdown on the mileage and most importantly on the time. In most cases you will see that the practical route takes far less time than the shortest route. It also gives you a general idea on the pay for whatever load that you are on......TransAm used to pay practical miles for the most part.
There are also some websites that allow you to download a free trial logbook. They are fun to play with and can give you some practice. I don't remember all of them.....you can do a search and find them. I want to say laptoplogbook.com is one. I downloaded a free trial and played with it for a month following along with the King just to give me a general idea of how his day worked.

Hi jungHo! My FB page was down this morning and I have it set up for much of my information network but it is back up and running now. We just went and took care of our little enterprise at the flea market. Daughters are happy to make a little money. Number Two daughter spends hers before we make it out of the building .....she loves vintage stuff. Yesterday she bought a cup for $3 came home and looked it up .....it sold on ebay for $40. Enjoy your day and I hope your mom is feeling more rested.

The scale house is open at the US 41 South Henderson at the Indiana/Kentucky border this scale house is usually always closed and they are pulling trucks in and doing full inspections and issuing citations

dennisroc, you asked about a recap. Running on a recap, allows you to keep going without taking that reset. Ex. here's the one I'm running now.

    07/25 10.25
    07/26 6.00
    07/27 9.75
    07/28 6.75
    07/29 6.50
    07/30 6.50
    07/31 6.25
    08/01 9.5

You'll notice that I have 8 days showing. Add up those days, and you'll see that it comes up to less than 70. That means I'm legal. To find out how many hrs I have tomorrow, that I can use. Starting with 08/01, count back 7 days. The 8th day, which is 07/25, gets crossed out. Now add those 7 days up and subtract from 70, and that will tell you how many hrs I have available tomorrow.

I 80 thru the Chicago, Gary, In area really sucked today. Put me behind 2 hrs. Have stopped here in Plymuth, for a break. Want to hit that next construction, between Ft. Wayne and Warsaw at night. Came thru there 2 days ago, and traffic was back up 5 or 6 miles, both directions.

In Sulpher Springs, Tx. got load delivered today. I may not like everything about this 680 but I got 9.1 mpg today so for right now it is my favorite truck. It was a light load but never came near that with the 700.

Split breaking is a little different. Ok you do your pre trip and drive 6 hours so now you go into your sleeper berth for 8 hours(this will suspend you 14 hour clock) now you have a little less than 5 hours to drive. So you drive another 3 hours. Now you take your 2 hour break(not sure if it has to be logged in the sleeper, I log it in sleeper berth mode just to be safe) Now you gain back the 6 hours you first drove and the pre-trip time. You can not break your 11 or 14 on either side of those breaks but those breaks do suspend you 11 and 14 hour clock. It is easier for me to explain while talking and showing you in a log book. I do not know if that helped out anyone or just confused everyone a little more. But as you can see this is why I do not recomend it to new drivers. When we used to paper log a lot of drivers got into trouble trying to do this as some DOT do not fully understand it.

Will be going to yard after my break to rescue a AB load going to Waco. I hope this does not screw me. I am trying to be a team player and help out when I can.

    Be safe out there

I'm still in Ardmore laying in bed because I don't want to go to Liberal, LOL. For several reasons, but mostly because if I commit to that course of action I will end up getting home Friday night instead of Friday morning like I requested and have to deadhead 400 miles out of my pocket to get home. I know that sometimes thats the best they can do for me byt Ive done that the last couple times and its expensive. Im putting my foot down this time. I neither accepted nor declined the load. My DM knows I'm in the neutral zone while other options are explored.
