Swift's standard cargo insurance is $250,000 and they buy increased coverage on a per load basis for high value which is why we don't get high value loads from Command. The rules for high value loads are abundantly clear and your DM buddy is fos. Swift goes to these lengths to ensure the customer we are taking good care of their freight; you didn't do your part. Good luck.

Interesting. I was told (repeatedly) that Swift is "self insured". Now I wonder if I fed a line of BS.

FWIW, I have hauled a couple of loads that were definitely HIGH VALUE (like a trailer FULL of Patron tequila) but I was not informed. I have also found out that if you have ANY questions concerning HV loads and proper procedure...CALL SWIFT SECURITY! Example: I'm in Anthony, TX and need fuel (planning to fuel at the El Paso terminal). I pick up a HV load in Santa Teresa, NM headed east but am told by my DM that I need the terminal manager's permission to stop at the terminal for fuel (200 mile rule in effect) and he won't give it. I found out later from security that ANY Swift terminal is considered secure and I could have stopped for fuel.

Taking three days off for home time. This will be a record number of days off for me since joining Swift a little over a year ago. I just dropped off my first student, with his requisite 200 hours, at Jurupa Valley, and received several thankful texts from him. It's a good feeling to help someone on the path to success and safety.

Already halfway through the first bottle of merlot, and about ready to put on a good movie. The wife will be home soon... ;)

Now that's just plain "creepy"... :D

    I know.
I just don't want to spend half a day looking for one.
I see them all the time, but with my luck I'll go the entire trip without passing a single one.

I notice trucks doing strange things too lately, also got annoyed by one tonight who decided he would fly past me then a mile later he is going slower than speed so I pass and then a couple minutes later he flys past me again.....went on from Lake Havasu to the rest area im at over 100 miles.

Was another 600+ mile night going to Las Vegas then to Sterilite in Havasu, now stopped at the rest area off the 40 right before Newberry Springs with 1 min left on the clock, I pretty much know I will find a spot at this one since they have the huge dirt area besides all the parking spots. Since I wont have a full clock I will be running to just Santa Maria when I make it back to the DC.

I was parked in a secured lot and parking area. Completely covered by cameras. It is even advertised as a secured lot here. Found out that I will have a sit down on Monday and get my hand slapped. Trailer backed up against a pole. Oh well.

At the Smith's grocery DC just south of Ogden, UT. Got right in, assigned a door right away AND NO LUMPERS!!
I may actually come back here again. We'll see how long it takes them to unload me.
