The Florida Love Bug is incredibly hard to clean off. Wipers only make it worse.
-
Take a dryer fabric softener sheet (Bounce or whatever brand), wet it and the love bugs and they come right off.

I ran across a migration of tarantulas one year on I-70 west of Richfield, UT. This had to be back in 91 or 92, or close to there anyway. Darnedest thing I've ever seen. This was near the top of a grade, and the roadway, and either side of the roadway were just covered with them. Headed north.
Later the same year, or perhaps the next year, it was caterpillars at Furnace Creek in Death Valley. Then they metamorphosed into big yellow butterflies. I had a dark blue motorcycle at the time. Looked terrible with yellow splatters all over it! -
Tarantulas!!That would have called for going back and forth a few more time for some squishing. That would give me nightmares.Hate spiders!! -
Oh come on now! Most tarantulas are totally harmless. Seriously. And they eat bugs and smaller spiders. And according to what I've read, if they do happen to bite you, it usually is no more serious than a bee sting. In Cambodia, they fry them and eat them.http://www.worldhum.com/features/how-to/how-to-eat-fried-tarantulas-in-cambodia-20091201/

Here in SE MI. we have the mayflies also known as fishflies. They swarm at night. Little buggers are like butter on the windshield. They will melt on painted surfaces in the sun so you have to wash them off early in the day. They are near the lakes / river areas in May and June. Ugh.

Hitting a swarm of glow bugs at night is always entertaining. They glow on the windshield for about a minute.
