HOS questions...

    3. Gaining Hours- If you choose not to take a 34 hour restart, the hours you were on duty and driving from your 8th previous day will be added back to the hours you have available on your 70. Example: If you do your recap at the end of the day and have reached your 70 hours for the week and you have no hours left, count back 8 days (including the current day). The number of hours you had on duty and driving on that 8th day is what you can be on duty/driving tomorrow. If you had 8 1/2 hours on your 8th day, thats what you can have on duty/driving tomorrow. If you had no (0) hours on duty/driving on that 8th day, you cannot drive or be on duty tomorrow at all. Basically, if you were off duty on that 8th day, you will be required to be off duty tomorrow if you have reached your 70 hours for the week.
