I had 2 3000 watt henery'sand a cobra 29 in my 1975 pete it worked fine. But i just moved into a 2014 T680 and it shuts down my engine every time I key up.
I know it's wired right, I added 4 960 amphour batts and a extra isolated alt. It's the same alt that's in the pete. Had it tested it works fine. the amps and CB are separate from the rest of the system.
any ideas?
Why won't my henery's work in my 2014 Kenworth T680

Your causing the computer in the tractor to shut down, RF interference.
Why would you use 2 separate amps off the same radio. does not make sense anyway. -
Dual antennas each with an amplifier, fed from radio or driver using a phasing harness. Hard wired Key line to eliminate COR circuit troubles. Also, it helps to be power mad. Or a superhero battling aliens from the ninth dimension.

That's awesome Outlaw. Power joints Outlaw is right why settle for 3000 watts when you can have 6000.
is there anyway to prevent my engine from shutting down? I also shutdown other trucks that are within 50 feet of me.
It also stops people from walking over me when i'm trying to talk. -
Stay at home. Or buy a 73 Pete, much better than a 75.

I'm looking for another old pete they are hard to find anymore. I totaled mine, rounded corner at night and hit a bull head on.
So there's no way to shield this thing? whats the max power i can run in these new trucks?
